Our Swedish friends, Jan & Liljana in Moscow are awesome! We love those two! They love to play games outdoors and they taught us a Swedish game called Kubb (pronounced "keb"). It's a lawn game and the object of the game is to knock over wooden blocks, known as "kubbs", by throwing wooden batons at them. Kind of like a mix between bowling and horseshoes. It was Liljana and I against the boys - Jan and Craig. Sadly, the ladies lost two matches in a row, but we did not go down without a fight.... we played to win, but got too many "bad bounces"! lol We started off with a warm-up drink and then headed outside to their beautiful backyard area within the Embassy compound. We should have remembered to take more pictures of the boys and the great food. We had several more drinks, some fantastic seeded flatbread (picture something like it below, roasted vegetables with BBQ steaks with a yummy mushroom sauce and probably the best BBQ sausage I've ever tasted along with a cabbage salad and for dessert a traditional Swedish meringue cake with berries that looked something like below...called pavlova

Concentrate on your shot Craig... not the camera! |

Warming up by the fire afterwards and consoling ourselves with some Swedish mulled wine. |

Still smiling despite our defeat! |
